Junior Neighbour Hood Support
Welcome

Dear Parents/Caregivers/Children

I am very excited that there are now 13 schools in the Junior Neighbourhood Support programme in Christchurch with the recent inclusion of Lyttelton Main School.
I will shortly be visiting some classes as well as some syndicate assemblies to talk to the children about the work of Junior Neighbourhood Support.    Later  this term I will look forward to attending whole school assemblies where I will be able to present certificates to children who have been nominated for their outstanding contribution to their school or community.

I will be visiting your school in a bright shiny Suzuki Jimny vehicle that has been generously gifted to JNS by TrustPower.

Keep Safe.

Warmest regards,

Andrea

The aim of the Junior Neighbourhood Support programme is,

“TO PROMOTE A SENSE OF PRIDE, SAFETY AND COMMUNITY SPIRIT IN CHILDREN AND THEIR WIDER SCHOOL COMMUNITY”

This programme is supported by the New Zealand Police, New Zealand Fire Service and Civil Defence and acknowledges those children who are contributing to their community in a positive way. Nominated children will be duly awarded at an assembly, with a certificate and sponsored prize. It is anticipated that a representative from one of the emergency services will be available to present this award and address the assembly.

For this programme to be a success we need the commitment and support of the students and their families, teaching staff and the wider community.

We encourage you to complete the nomination form below for any child who you feel would be most deserving to be a recipient of such an award. Nomination forms can also be obtained from your primary shcool.   These forms can be returned to the office at any time throughout the year.

Many thanks

Andrea Haberfield
Junior Neighbourhood Support Co-ordinator.
